Being diagnosed with a chronic health issue can be scary. It may be hard to get your head around, and difficult to navigate your way to find the management that suits YOU. Then there is that feeling that you are all alone and no-one understands.
These were the driving forces with the establishment of the ADN. While there are a number of fabulous global support pages and groups, there was nothing close to home that may result in physical connections. The fact is, that as Aussies, we are a scattered bunch, and unless you live in a capital city or major centre, your chances of meeting someone who shares your frustrations is very low.
The ADN hopes to change that by providing local information and opportunities to connect local people either by ‘e’ groups, by email or even in person… where that’s possible.
Feel free to get in touch, either by the ‘contact us’ page or via our closed facebook group Dysphonia- Let’s talk about it (you will need to request membership).
We are fortunate to live in a time that allows us to connect electronically, develop friendships and to build a sense of community. So, when you’re ready … let’s talk.
